The students make an Appleseed, and this group made an excellent weekend for all with good humor and great chemistry. It's a pleasure to work with such nice people. Thanks to GMB74, our sponsoring member at the host club, and the Proctor Fish & Game Club for hosting us at their beautiful facility.
Everyone followed the safety rules in an exemplary manner. Everyone learned a ton, moving from "what is that sling for" to developing solid positions and great groups, as shown by the increasing scores on Redcoats and AQTs. It isn't often that the Saturday closing Redcoat (14 shooters) shows five Morgan's shingles and four clean targets!
Congratulations to Scott for qualifying as a Rifleman with a score of 218 (twice!) in only his second Appleseed. Dan as usual posted a series of Rifleman scores. Chuck also qualified as a repeater after a layoff of nearly ten years. Steve, with a borrowed rifle, knocked on the door hard with steadily increasing scores and a final 209 on Sunday. I expect that when he settles in Florida he'll have his patch in no time.
I sincerely hope that everyone was inspired not only to continue your marksmanship training but also to get more involved in your public affairs. Don't let ours be the last generation of Americans to live in freedom. And I look forward to seeing you all again.
