What a great weekend at the fantastic Laramie Rifle Range. Although we lacked for registered shooters, we would eventually have 4 shooters take their place on the firing line and shoot an AQT at full distance. There was also plenty of time spent embracing our American Heritage and reaffirming ourselves to honor those who sacrificed so much for our freedom.
Laramie is normally a wind tunnel with 30 plus mile an hour winds snaking up the canyon and pushing every shot off target. This weekend had little to no wind! All four shooters were able to take advantage of the conditions. Flux earned his Known Distance patch (this was his first KD) and three others all posted a score to requalify. RegualrGuy would post a 49 just missing a perfect score and TheGlendoKid would requalify with a 47, just missing his Distinguished. Overall, it was some fine shooting by some quality Riflemen.

"To each there comes in their lifetime a special moment when they are figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chance to do a very special thing, unique to them and fitted to their talents. What a tragedy if that moment finds them unprepared or unqualified for that which could have been their finest hour."
― Sir Winston Churchill
Our host for the weekend was the Laramie Rifle Range. This club always comes through for Appleseed and is one of the most active Appleseed ranges in Wyoming. We also have several club members who are also Appleseed volunteers. Thank you Laramie Rifle Range for your awesome support! Also a special shout out to RegularGuy and currently inactive Appleseeder Sleepy who helped make this event happen!
Thanks to all for another great gathering!
Well done all, looks like a great event. Corvette
Thanks Corvette! It was a really a great event at a great range. More importantly, it was a weekend with fellow lovers of liberty.
This was a solid group of Riflemen who came out to this event to shoot KD and the results speak for themselves. RegularGuy was only out on Sunday but still managed to get in a couple of qualifiers in addition to his high score of 49! TheGlendoKid might have been the most consistent shooter of the weekend, scoring Rifleman on most of his attempts including his high of 47 (missing Distinguished by 1!). Our favorite Senior Instructor, M1Bzrk, even got behind his rifle to check his zeros and show us how it's done!

It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.~ Samuel Adams
After earning his Pistoleer™ patch on Friday, Flux was making his first appearance at a Known Distance shoot. After getting over some troubles with his new AR, he immediately scored 45 hits and earned his Known Distance patch! Nice work!

What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed, if so celestial an article as Freedom should not be highly rated. - Thomas Paine
By the time we wrapped up on Sunday, everyone was tired but satisfied with their performance. The only thing that would have made the event better would have been more Appleseeders on the line embracing their heritage of American Marksmanship. To all the instructors and participants - Huzzah! Well done!
Huzzah!!!! Well done. Corvette
