My apologies for the late posting on this. No alibis to offer.
That said...HUZZAH! We had a great group of students and instructors on the 31st of July and 1st of August. The students were mostly repeat Appleseeders (or brought by same) and had a great time. Very very safe group, for which I thank you!
The weather was as near perfect as we could ask, and the students were outstanding. We had a great time shooting and learning, and I was greatly pleased to award two well deserved new Pistoleer™ patches. Huzzah! Also of note, Messer and BillP_556 requalified as Pistoleer™s!
Pictures will follow as I find them.
Sounds like great way to spend a weekend!
And a good time was had by all! O0
I'm glad RRPC was able to host this - it's a great program.
As always, my thanks to the great Appleseed instructors!
Stay Vigilant,
Bob S.
Thank you for a wonderful weekend. I got a Pistoleer™ patch, and I definitely had to work hard to earn it! I also needed the personal help I received from Bob on Sunday and another instructor whose name I unfortunately didn't write down on Saturday, to qualify with only 2 points to spare on the last attempt of the event. For example, Bob showed me how to use the prominent grooves on both sides of the Taurus 22 pistol, which I had not noticed and do not exist on any other pistol I have seen. Also that the somewhat high flyers on each rapid fire target were always the first shot in the string. I just got a Strikeman laser training system, and fortunately the first shot is the one I can practice in my basement! It was somewhat disappointing that the .22 cases did not somehow convert to reloadable 9mm cases when I shot them, but I have more than 500 good 9mm cases and should soon have cleaning media to polish them. I was using only factory new 9mm ammo and one gun stopped working anyway, I thoroughly cleaned and inspected it and will need to test it when I can.
Bob,
Glad you came out and achieved the "Pistoleer™" patch! Great Job and hope to see you and a family member or friend out at another Appleseed event!
Sincerely,
