Our state coordinator bought some .22LR ammo through a grant program for youth shooters. Is there a policy on mentioning the availability of ammo at cost on the info page for an event or in any promo items (posters, fliers, etc.)?
I know the policy against selling products at events, but with the dearth and price of ammo it might increase attendance. I just don't want to violate any rule that would jeopardize tax status, etc.
Thank you.
Sir,
This has been discussed on the State Coordinator board; Beast is aware. Bottom line, confirmed with Vista et al:
"The "no resale" policy means Vista does not want the ammo being resold for profit. It is perfectly acceptable to sell the ammo at cost."
If Clan Tennessee sees fit to give it away, their call and thank you for the financial donation.
Many other states provide to youth shooters at cost - i.e. WITH NO MARKUP - usually with some sort of limit (e.g. one brick per youth per event, youth must be present, etc).
HTH.
I believe BGC was concerned with advertising that ammo would be available for purchase. While it is owned and sold at cost by individuals, it may come across as RWVA selling it.
Perhaps this thread should be moved to the Shoot Boss subforum.
Thanks Beast.
I'll take this one for action.
More to follow soonest.
Please be sure not to mention the youth program or Vista.

Sorry, can you please clarify this? I thought we should be giving credit to the appropriate organization/group for the source of youth ammo program to allow more youth to attend the events when ammo is hard to find economically currently?
I also vote on this being moved to the SB sub-forum.

I'm confused as well. We have Youth Ammo available, but we can't tell anyone about it? I must be misunderstanding something.
If this thread is moved, please let the rest of the cadre know what the final decision is. I've mentioned the Youth Ammo program to potential attendees, so I'd like to know if we're no longer able to talk about it.
Everybody breathe through their noses.
I am in the middle of staffing the way forward with the cognizant folks on the National Staff.
When guidance has been approved, it will be disseminated via the appropriate board on the forum.
Thanks for patience and for everything you do for the program.
