Title: L.E. Duncan's Rainbow Shooting Club, Rainbow, CA April 17-18, 2021

A great shoot this Patriot's Day weekend in Rainbow CA, with 13 shooters from the Southern California area.
A special treat was a guest instructor Tennessee Beast from Nashville  and Kelevez from Oceanside: thank you both so much for coming and helping us instruct the next generation of Riflemen.
Congratulations to our new Riflemen! Andrew attained that elusive Rifleman score on Sunday afternoon, when it finally "all came together" for him.  Garrett shot two Rifleman scores on Sunday, and Minh shot two Rifleman scores on Saturday!  A special  mention to our repeat Rifleman Chris, who shot an astounding 07 rifleman scores this weekend! Chris's average score was 230, with two "Distinguished" patches awarded for the weekend.  Outstanding shooting for all of California's newest Riflemen: what a pleasure it was to award those special April 19th patches to you on the weekend when "Marksmanship met History!"
To all of our return shooters, thank you so much for being here and staying the course: that rifleman score can be yours, keep practicing: all of the instructors were thankful and impressed with your determination and stamina. Well done.
Especially inspiring this weekend were newcomers Rusty and Jennifer who stayed with it the entire weekend despite the jams and equipment issues, and improved their skills as future Riflemen.  Your can-do attitude impressed us all.
I would be remiss if I did not mention our very own "Dangerous Old Man" Gerald, who fought the good fight against the creaks and groans of old age and kept up with our group, trying his best each course of fire; it was a pleasure to have you on the line, Gerald, hope to see you back!
12 returning shooters on Sunday were present for our Memorial Volley.  It was accomplished with precision and timeliness: thank you once again for your participation and for giving this very special event so much respect and reverence.
All in all, the patriots of Southern California were represented in fine fashion this weekend at L.E. Duncan's Rainbow Shooting range.
More photos will be posted as they come in.

It was a pleasure to meet Tennessee Beast. And his words rang throughout the weekend " we believe in liberty!"
A lot of fun was had, personally, not having been to an event since 2019, I had to dust off the cobwebs. Having proven that I could still find my npoa quickly and relatively precisely with a very accurate rifle on Saturday, I brought a bone stock 10/22 with an inexpensive scope - to prove that the fundamentals are very valid.
It wasn't until I got home Sunday, that what I had accomplished really began to sink in. 7 for 7 AQT's

I personally want to thank all of the instructors who dedicate their time and money to keep this program going. And a big thank you to the LE Duncan Rainbow Range for consistently hosting appleseed events.

Yes, I do not think I have ever seen that!  I know one observer over the weekend told me after watching you for a few courses of fire, how methodical, calm, and quick each Stage was for you; another confirmation that practice and fundamentals are key to attaining that "Rifleman's bubble".   Well done, and thanks for being a great example on the line.

Thanks to all who made their way to L. E. Duncan's Rainbow Shooting Range for an amazing Patriots Day Shoot! And, BIG CONGRATS to the four who shot Rifleman and those who cleared it on the Red Coat target. Outstanding!

Looking forward to seeing you back in June!

One quick admin note: A lot of our shooters were very interested in the Ruger 10/22 trigger demo kit I had on my Laser NPOA rifle, and here's the link if anyone is interested:

It was an honor being present for the memorial volley. We really enjoyed the history stories and the passion each instructor had telling them. It infected us all and the memories had are priceless. Despite the jams or my half moon scope of view we practiced the six steps of shooting and improved our scores. My goal next time is to upgrade the rifles with Volquartsen extractors and ensure I have proper eye relief in prone and sitting stances with my scope.

We want to thank each instructor for the time they spent trouble shooting our issues. They made my wife comfortable with her rifle and gave her the confidence to operate it. I am so proud of her and the people we meet that day. Also a BIG Thank You to L.E. Duncan's Rainbow Shooting Club for hosting these events.

It was great having both of you there, Rusty.
Another memorable moment was down at the targets when your wife decided that standing was the position for her. The grouping told the story there; another excellent demonstration of how that "rifleman's bubble" works, once the mind focuses on maintaining that "fuzzy target" behind the crosshairs/front sight!  Well done to you both!
