Leyden, the Jewel of Western Mass, where the weather is always great, the shooters are always great, the range is always great ... Seriously, though, where do all these patient, persistent, and upbeat shooters come from?
It was snowing late Friday into early Saturday, but by 09:00, all precipitation stopped, the temperature started to climb and the participants unlimbered for action, so to speak. During this glorious weekend, we covered a lot of heritage ground, extended our shooting to 250 yards, were given the opportunity to ooh and aah over a beautiful Charleville musket (and to fire it! That's a photo MetalgodZ making smoke and hitting a stump at 30 yards), and welcomed a new Rifleman to the fold.
Overall this was a safe and productive weekend that did not feel rushed, but rather steady - a pleasure for this SB, at least. Thank you all, participants and Instructors alike, for making it happen!
Did a redcoat get shot with that flintlock?
Due to timing and personal issues, the flintlock was only available on Saturday and only with very limited ammunition. We handled it during Third Strike, after which a stump volunteered for target duty.
Thank you aim for a great event!
goodpiper's back in the saddle again : )
And here are some photos, courtesy goodpiper.

The picture of Metalgodz with his daughter is priceless. Well done.
