Thank you to all who attended our recent Instructor Boot Camp at Rivanna Rifle & Pistol Club this past weekend!
I learned, just today, that the last IBC held in Virginia was on or about 2011, as evidenced by this thread (https://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=17784).
The club graciously donated their spacious clubhouse to host 19 Project Appleseed Instructors - most of the VA cadre - with experience levels ranging from the well seasoned to two brand new IIT0s.
The two day event focused on fundamentals of teaching our Program of Instruction, diagnosing students issues on the firing line, as well as a review of the current Instructor Manual (v 8.2) and two dedicated blocks on teaching history. Coming out of the event, we minted two brand new IIT0s as well as two new AppleCore volunteers!
It was absolutely wonderful to see old friends and new faces. It strengthens my belief that 2021 will be our BEST year in the Commonwealth yet for Project Appleseed. There's a lot of work to be done; we now have a baselined crew ready to carry the water.
Lastly, thank you to Messer, our sponsor at Rivanna Rifle & Pistol Club (and AppleCore member), who set the conditions for this great event to be held in their clubhouse.
Because we all know that :pics:...uploads forthcoming. ;)
