Project Appleseed

We had a fantastic shoot in Dubuque. Weather on Saturday was a little cooler with some light misting towards the end of the day. Sunday started off a little chilly with ice on the tarps, but it warmed up and was absolutely beautiful the rest of the day.

We had an outstanding group of shooters who more than doubled the redcoat scores on Saturday. Four shooters shot rifleman and we had one re-qualify. Two of our new riflemen were a father - son pair. Congratulations to Steve, Auston, Zach, and Michael. We had a couple more knocking on the door and everyone showed significant improvement. Kurt was three points short of qualifying as distinguished.

Many thanks to the Izaak Walton Club of Dubuque for hosting our event. Also many thanks to the instructors (Cort, James, Trista, Ryan, Stacey, & Ben). A special shout out to the Sweeney family for bringing their entire family (three instructors, three shooters, and two cheer leaders).

I thoroughly enjoyed working with this group of shooters!  They all worked really hard to improve their marksmanship and we saw great results over the course of the weekend.  We also learned a lot of important history related to the founding of our country.  We learned of the sacrifice patriots made and the risks they took on April 19, 1775 so that their posterity could live in freedom.  We are all in their debt.
