A HUGE thank you to the Izaak Walton League Diana chapter in Shelby IN for hosting us and showing so much great hospitality. 13 great Americans came out from 3 different states (Indiana, Illinois and Michigan) to experience American Heritage, marksmanship and good fellowship.
Congrats to our new Riflemen -- Nathan, Bryan, Billy and John. 2 first timers and 2 repeat Appleseeders. Great persistence and John really showed that it "clicked" by knocking out 3 repeat Riflemen scores. We started the event with pretty darn good groups and it only got better as everyone soaked in the marksmanship.
We have multiple people knocking on the door of the coveted Rifleman patch. Mike broke through a personal barrier on the last AQT and jumped around 30 points in his score. Joy and Ian battled hard and consistently showed improvement. Jaxson and Jesse fought through some early equipment issues and came away shooting very solid groups. William and Jeremy -- another father son duo -- cranked away with good humor. Dan is rolling and I can't wait for him to return to his next event. Barb (once she remembered that having both your mags for stage 2 helps your score ;D ) is sure to equal John with her scores.
We also had some great history stories and group discussions. Thanks for engaging in the lessons from our forefathers and making it a point to engage in this wonderful system we have in this country. Finally, thanks to the instructor crew -- Captain America, Pepper Spray and Star Lord.
I know others have pictures but here's what was on my phone. See you next time!
I would like to thank the instructors for the Great weekend of shooting, history and over all fun. This was my second Appleseed, the fun shoots were great to decompress. It was nice to see so many people interested in marksmanship and history. Thanks again Steel, Captain, Pepper spray and Starlord.
