The heat tried its best to keep this crew down but a Rifleman will persist. Even with the 107 heat index on Saturday 5 shooters came out to learn some marksmanship and history. No new rifleman were discovered this weekend but much was learned by all.
Late Saturday we felt it was sufficient to declare the event an inferno seed. Admittedly by stage 4 of the AQT the temp dropped to a comfortable 103 but the best score we could get out of the day was a 209 by one of our instructors. The heat does take its toll.
Sunday proved much better with two shooters working for a distinguished patch. Neither was able to obtain it this weekend but with a high score of 231 (with optics) turned in by Kevin we were close to handing out one of those coveted patches.
The heat really does take it out of one. You guys really deserve credit for persistence.
