The Boulder Rifle Club came through for Project Appleseed once again making it possible for a fantastic group of liberty-minded Coloradans to gather for a weekend of liberty, heritage and marksmanship. We may have been limited in our numbers but no one could limit our enthusiasm!

What Boulder lacks in shade, it's shooters more than make up for in enthusiasm.
First let me give a shout out to Dave, the BRC member who offered to come out to the range extra early on Saturday to give us the extra time to set up everything needed to help our event maintain a proper "social distancing". Flux and Caleb.Hahn were out as well, setting up the range for the event and ready to tackle their first events as Appleseed Instructors.
Next, time to mention our MVP for this event - Michael! This was his third Appleseed and he showed up with three friends to join him on the line! This is really what makes Appleseed work. Hopefully we'll see him and his buddies out on the line again . . . with even more people to come out and celebrate American liberty and our shared heritage.
As we discussed the history of April 19th, 1775, we heard from Lord General Hugh Percy who would gain a new respect for those determined farmers and shop keepers who declared they would have their liberty or perish in the struggle. He would later describe the colonists and write, "They have men amongst them who know very well what they are about." Well, in addition to bringing folks out, Michael did a yeoman's work behind his rifle . . .

Flux and Caleb were determined to get out on the line for their first event as instructors and they both knocked it out of the park. Having worked their first Colorado event, they were welcomed into the Colorado Appleseed cadre with the state patch. Great job to both of them!

Every Appleseed weekend is a celebration of liberty and an honoring of the sacrifice that was made to secure it. It also is a reminder of the duty the present generation has to preserve it and pass it on to our posterity. When we talked about the role Paul Revere played on April 19th, we asked how many people you thought you might get to show up if there were a threat to our liberty. Maybe this weekend was your call. Our country, our liberty is in danger and it's time to "turn out" to save it. :)
