Palmerton PA - AAR - Aug 15-16, 2020
We had an excellent weekend at Palmerton Rod & Gun Club here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We've been at this supportive club for a long time and it was great to be back for this rescheduled April 19th event.
Fifteen students partook over the weekend with four pairs of fathers and sons (and daughter!) on the line. A married couple, a pair of army buddies and a few brave singletons rounded out the crew of attentive, safe, polite, perseverant students.
Threatening weather held off all weekend. Mother Nature, it seems, was drawn to the Cacophony of Liberty... and upon hearing the Crack of the Rifle Shot and the Smell of the Gunpowder decided to aid instead of hinder the Cause.
The instructor crew of Red Coat Rival, JesseO, and myself, and assisted by "one-day blue hat" BBQ_Bandit was pleased to award Ethan, Dana, Jude, Jacob and John the William Diamond patch for their commitment to safety and dedication to learning and hard work.
By the end of Sunday we were also able to present Daniel and James with Rifleman patches for scores of 222 and 225 respectively.... and 1st Pennsylvania Riflemen Regiment awards for ably clearing their redcoat targets. Well done gentlemen!
I'm also very excited to have passed an orange hat on to Bob, BBQ_Bandit when he completed it's final prerequisite by blasting a 222. Great job, and Kevin, Jesse and myself thank you for your help this weekend and welcome you into our ranks.
Emily definitely gets the prize for most improved, great job!
Finally, the Snyders won a close contest during the Shingle competition, even beating out our two new Riflemen.... by a nose. ...or more accurately by a femoral artery! ...and because the promised reward for winning was for me to say complimentary things about the winning team for 48 hours... here I am telling everyone that I think you two are swell guys of the highest quality. :)
