Title: Durango, Iowa 18-19Jul2020
Post by: IXOYE on July 20, 2020, 08:32:00 PM
We had a great weekend at the Hefel Hollow range in Durango. Many thanks to Lyle for having everything trimmed and in tip top shape for us. Saturday was a little warm and we had a pretty good thunderstorm in the morning, but it didn't dampen anyone's spirits. Sundays weather was nearly perfect.

Everyone showed great improvement in their marksmanship skills. Kudo's to Adam and Denis for shooting 208 on an AQT. Keep working on your skills, particularly regarding your NPOA and finding it quickly. Then come back and earn your rifleman patch. An additional kudos to Adam for his stellar performance on the NPOA star drill.

We had three guys running bolt action rifles. That's a fairly significant handicap for stages two and three but they all persisted and showed measurable improvement. Keep working on those skills guys and you'll be scoring 210 before you know it.

Last but not least, thanks to Brian for helping instruct and call the line. It's great having another instructor in the eastern Iowa region who shares the Appleseed passion for creating riflemen and restoring our heritage.

I'll include our group picture from Saturday in a separate post.
