A few of us were able to get together for a great range day out at the Skyline Hunting and Fishing Club. We haven't been able to get a single Colorado Appleseed off the ground yet in 2020 due to the COVID restrictions. This also means no chance to "officially" shoot a 210 AQT and also no chance to take that orange hat and start helping as an instructor with Appleseed. Well two shooters weren't about to let that stand in their way, so they arranged a "miniseed" to get behind the rifles and see where they stand.
Codefogey was ready to go, and after a couple of warmup squares, he knocked out a 216! To make sure it wasn't a fluke, he shot a Rifleman score on his second attempt also! Then with his patch and new orange hat he started learning how to call the line, clear the line and introduce the remaining AQTs. He is definitely a man who knows well what he's about and Colorado Appleseed is lucky to have him on the team!
MileHiXJ was just under the line before we called it a day with a 185 and then a 196! So Close! But even on Father's Day, a guy's gotta get home when he says he'll be there! He's got himself scheduled for a little "dryfire" practice at the house to put him over the edge "next time". That should be perfect for the next Denver Appleseed in three weeks! Colorado is ready!
