Thanks for the replies to my other posts. One more question on AR 22lr conversions = I have heard that there will be different points of aim for 22lr vs 5.56.
Is it a really big deal to change the sight settings back & forth?? (please bear with me-I did NOT keep up the rifle practice after my 1st appleseed 2 years ago and I was starting from ground zero then!!)
Would the hassle with the changed sights be enough to warrant the dedicated 22lr AR upper??
Thanks, Bill
Most folks report no change in POA vs. POI at 25 meters. My rifle has a 3" vertical difference at 25 meters, but that's my rifle. You won't know till you try it.
The sight adjustment (if any) should not be an issue if you keep records. I would get your zero with the 5.56 and record the changes you need for the .22 @ 25M.
It sounds like you really want a dedicated upper - if you have the cash, go for it.

Is my justification showing again?? ::)
You must get the upper! Its an order! If you need a permission slip I'll send you one. **)
I have two dedicated uppers. Of course, there is no reason to mess with the sights because the sights go with the upper. I have one with standard AR iron sights and the other has an ACOG.
They both shoot really well.
