It was a beautiful weekend at a beautiful range! Thanks to Monroe Sportsman's Club for hosting Project Appleseed for the third year.
There were plenty of students on the line and the first-rate crew of instructors kept the event flowing with nary a hitch. The shootboss was virtually unemployed. Many on the line were experienced Appleseeders, and a couple were Instructor alumni, so the marksmanship was generally pretty crisp.
Desiree cleared all four Redcoats and shot a high of 237. Dale's high was 235, Mark's was 234, but the shooter who came closest to the coveted "240" was Calvin, with a 238. Tom shook off the rust with a 217, and Sydnee earned her patch with a 211, and also cleared a Redcoat. Several others scored high in the Sharpshooter range, flirting with a Rifleman score but not quite able to close the deal.
Hope to see you all again soon. "A Rifleman persists!"
Such a beautiful weekend to get back on the trail. It was nice to see old friends and make some new ones.
I took some pictures Sunday afternoon after my neck, back, and knees had had enough. Here are some Dangerous Old Men:
