Title: Not So Standard Issue Shooting Jacket
Post by: Jayhawker on December 26, 2019, 10:58:46 PM
For Christmas I got a reproduction vintage marine corps shooting jacket, made by Not So Standard Issue.

If your looking for a jacket with part of a chair sown into the back, or one with a suspension system that thrusts your liver up to your Adam's apple, this isn't it.

This one is more comfortable than pajamas.

Near as I can tell, looking at google pictures of the originals, it appears to me that the fit and cut are perfect.

So how does it perform. I'd just put a different scope on my rifle and went outside to dial it in. I shot a few at a logo on the cardboard about 3" above the target page. That's what the few holes in the mid top edge are. After I got close, I started in the upper left square and made a Z pattern to the bottom right.

Clearly, it shaved several MOA off my group size. https://appleseedinfo.org/smf/Smileys/newsmileys/grin.gif

For those of you who can't stand the idea of putting on elbow pads, this is a fabulous alternative. The pads on the support hand sleeve act like hooks for your sling. It's comfortable too, and very good looking.
