Title: Palm Bay, FL Dec 21-22, 2019
Post by: TheMenace on December 23, 2019, 03:41:35 PM
We were expecting the worst with rain and wind forecast. Fortunately, the only impact was a soggy redcoat on Sunday morning. The students were fun, conscientious and persistent. 75% earned Rifleman Patches with Dan and Peter requalifying. Arthur shot 233 for Rifleman on Saturday and returned to earn a Distinguished Tab with a 241 on Sunday in his second event.

Stephen 225, Clayton 211, Matthew 213, Joel 219, Arthur 241, Dan 233, Peter 239, Eric Z 215

There was a bit of competition in the Bennett family with the sons both scoring Rifleman and dad providing some suspense scoring on the last AQT Sunday. Paige was discouraged by scores in the 60's on Saturday but returned with determination on Sunday to achieve the "most improved" accolade with a score of 208! Maddy earned a respectable Marksman score despite her scope mount giving up. Greg delivered a solid Sharpshooter score with iron sights. Eric W was unable to return on Sunday. I foresee all four of them scoring Rifleman at their next event.

Eric Z took the prize for longest journey from Everett, Washington followed closely by Peter from Richmond, Virginia. Look for Peter to don an Orange Hat at his next shoot.

A tip of the SB hat to a fine staff for making this a memorable shoot. MaidMarian even worked on her birthday Sunday and Sieggie delivered despite an injury sustained on Friday. Planeman drove up from Hollywood to start on the road to Shoot Boss (SBIT-1).

Merry Christmas and I look forward to seeing you all at another shoot in 2020.

In Liberty!
Dennis

Fantastic. Congratulations everyone. And an extra high five to Peter for his 241.
Wish I could have been there for the second day.

A few days late with the holidays, but first off, MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS to ALL!

What an amazing group of shooters!  The improvements from the shooters came early and stayed late!  It is so fulfilling as an instructor to see 75% of the shooters (8 shooters) make riflemen and a distinguished one too!  For us instructors, you gave us early holiday presents!

The icing on the cake was rumblings of a couple of those riflemen, possibly joining the mission and taking on orange hats.  To that, HUZZAH!!

I took a few pictures along the way and great memories to keep!
