Title: Sling parts
Post by: wileycoyote on December 13, 2019, 09:36:47 AM
Does anyone know where to buy sling hardware- h buckle, cam lock,
J hook? I'd like to make colored slings but I can't find a supplier for the steel parts

Numrich sells parts individually. I bought a bunch 8 years ago and made some slings.

Ammogarand sells the J hooks and the cam lock sling keepers.  I have not seen the H buckle triglides on their site.  But a J hook and a cam lock sling keeper will cost $7.70.  A complete green or black web sling will include the H buckle as well as the other two pieces and costs only $4.25 more ($11.95).  So if you can't find the H buckle elsewhere, your best option might be to just buy a complete sling and cut the stitching to release the H buckle.

I called CJ Weapons and did just that.  Told them I wanted to build some slings rather than buy their's and they sold me the hardware for a reasonable price.

They're the manufacturer of the M1 cotton slings Midway USA and Brownell's sells.

Their website's security certificate is expired so you get a google warning if you try to go there but it's OK.

I bought some replacement keepers from Numrich last year and was very disappointed in the quality.  Very difficult to close, clearance was incorrect.  Brittle steel snapped when I pried up one of the tabs which was bent too far.  Suspect Chinese origin.  Suggest looking elsewhere.

Go to ebay.

Type 'GI web sling' in the search bar.

Resurrecting a dead thread here, but for future reference I'm in the same boat and finally found a decent priced supplier for the tri-glides (https://www.ahh.biz/hardware/military/tri-glides/tri-glides_steel_32mm_milspec.php).

I bought the rest of the parts from AmmoGarand.

I have seen some good colored slings done bleaching a normal GI one and then dying it if that helps.

I don't have any "extra". I want to keep the ones I have for loaners.
