Title: Air speed

I just purchased a used Evanix AirSpeed rifle.

Yep, semi auto, ten round mag (in 22 Cal) more than 60, some say more than 100 shots per fill.
Mine was modified by the previous owner, judicious spring cutting=lighter hammer blow=less air released per shot=lower velocity=more shots per fill.

Evanix is in south Korea. The company has had at least three US distributors in recent years, this vid is from the latest distributor.

The rifle is very nice, polish, and bluing like you would expect from Browning or Weatherby. The ugly stock feels very nice.

It came out with some accuracy issues, the latest distributor, Jefferson State Airguns came up with a mechanical fix, my rifle has the JSA "fix" installed. Perhaps the newer models have addressed this problem.

Parts have been unavailable to dealers, Evanix will sell parts, with instances like 5 bucks for a pin, 30 bucks shipping from Korea.

MSRP in the 1,200 dollar range. Magazines sell for 88 dollars.

Not quite ready for Appleseed...…….

Neat! Very nice.   Good video here that has a comparison of pellets: pretty impressive with the exact jumbo heavy at 50 https://youtu.be/42fx2aVPL4E

As shipped, it was optimized for heavy pellets. Evanix has a second mag design better optimized for light pellets.
My rifle came with 4 mags, two of each type.

When Hajimoto fired the 14 grain pellets, the chrono showed 1000+ fps. Many skirted pellets start to fail in the 925-950 fps range. The skirt of the pellet gets damaged, sometimes blown off.  Leading also becomes a problem at higher velocities.

So will you be going to slugs?

Slugs have little appeal.

The idea of low power has it's points.

If more power is needed, surely there's something handy.

Have you heard Benjamin plans to introduce a semi-auto Marauder?

No I hadn't.  The semi auto I saw looks similar to the Marauder design.

I should have ordered my Marauder a few weeks ago Pyramid Air had them for $150 off.  It was the lowest price I had seen them.

I want the Lother barrel as it comes with a Picatiny rail vs. the 11 mm grove.

Are you looking at the "FT" version or the "standard" version? I am planing to order the "FT" version with the Lother/Walther barrel (maybe today) and a Bugbuster 3-12 x 32 AO. I have and like the Bugbuster 3-9 X 32 AO on my Marlin 99C (AQT 225 at Volga IA in Sept).

Those bugbusters are pretty good scopes. I have one, it has been on a variety of powder burners and air guns.

I really like the parallax/focus dial back to three yards, great for indoor dryfire. They are tough too, guaranteed to survive the hardest kicking springer air guns.

Mounted on my airspeed right now. The fun fund was pretty depleted with the purchase of the airspeed.
