Title: Butler Creek mags any good?
Post by: Question Mark Mike on September 22, 2019, 12:54:52 PM
Usually I just like sticking to OEM or Mecgar magazines, but you end up hearing about the Butler creek mags for the 10/22 if you lurk around the forums enough. Are they any good in terms of durability and reliability?

10 rounders work fine and you don't have to guess if it locked in. The steel lip mags, which I have, are supposedly more durable but I've had 4 plastic lipped ones that I've been lending out for over 6 years at 'Seeds that haven't missed a lick.

The plastic lipped ones I had were fine until they developed a groove where the rim pushed up against them.  This was back in 2011 when I started the polymer may be better now. I pretty much stick to the factory mags now.
