My wife has been talked into donning an Orange Hat. :~
She would like a Shooting Jacket, but would prefer a black one over the beautiful OD ones Fred sells. Women! I guess color matters for some reason when rolling around prone in the mud. **)
Anyway, I did some quick googling, looked on eBay, and can't find a black USMC jacket. Anyone know of a source? Thanks.
Believe me, you don't want a black shooting jacket in the summer; the green ones are warm enough. Heat related issues can be a real problem. (You'll note that all the 'serious' leather and cordura shooting jackets have white back panels).
Meanstreaker,
DON'T DO IT!
The guys are right about the black shooting jacket.
If she wants another color, they are going to be limited.
You can try Creedmore Sports, Champion's Choice or Champion Shooters Supply. They can all be Googled.

That is a blue cloth coat with straps listed at $85.00. They are in New Albany, OH near Columbus on the north side.
It would be best to go there and get the fit right.

Hehe, OK, OK, all good points. I'm making an executive decision to halt the search. :)
Meanstreaker, does this mean that Mrs Mean is going to Knob Creek? OG wants to know.
Most likely not, but I'm working on it.
For now, she feels comfortable working the Admin table at the SW Ohio shoots I'm setting up and a couple others around here and acting as a Line Safety Officer.
My sinister plan is to start her off with that and hopefully she'll be telling the Three Strikes after she gets her feet wet. :)
MeanStreaker,
Black is extremely hot. In direct sunlight it will feel like red hot metal searing against your skin. In high humidity, even the best material blend will be soaking wet from sweat and will stick to you like a wet swim suite, restricting your ability to quickly transition into different shooting positions (or in this case, inhibit the ability to demonstrate curriculum on the line as an instructor). In Ohio, that's what you have, direct sunlight and high humidity, from the end of April to the beginning of October.
For females who dislike being fashionably uncoordinated, they will dislike being terribly uncomfortable and reeking with sweat for 9+ continuous hours two days in a row even more.
Tell her green is smart, tan is better, a blend of both is ideal. If she doesn't believe you, tell her she can borrow my summer weight jacket for a weekend. She won't want one after that. I guarantee it. O0
Dinky
Hello Group : I agree with Dinky and the rest, Champions Choice, or Creedmore can supply your needs. Tan would be my choice for hot weather. AS always Pappy

Come on Mrs. Mean! Mrs. Slim is about 99% booked to go right now.
(Also, as for the black jacket, she can have mine. Even being 2-3X or whatever it is, the only time she's going to want to wear it is when it'll be cold enough to fit all those other clothes under it as well. It should fit her then!)
Try Here http://www.militarylogisticsmfg.com/p0002252.html They have OD green and Tan plus others. 1911Ron
