Title: AAR Ramseur, NC July 20 - 21 2019
Post by: Henry Foxall on July 23, 2019, 09:56:51 AM
It was a typically hot North Carolina summer weekend that saw eight Patriots gather together at the home range of Ramseur, NC to drink deeply from the fire hose of history, heritage, and MARKSMANSHIP! Following our in-brief and initial Redcoat, the shooters settled down to work; in spite of thunder and lightning that cut deeply into our Saturday afternoon, the shooters doubled-down on their efforts and STILL managed to complete the first-day's Course of Fire. Bravo Zulu ("Well Done!") to the students for helping push back the time monkey and "getting it done" in the oppressive heat!

Day 2 proved to be much more amiable weather-wise (although still H-O-T), with a review of positions, the Six Steps, NPOA, and much more - walking the target line revealed much promise for our little group when engaging the AQTs that afternoon! The "tale of the tape" at the conclusion of our event told the story - two new Riflemen (Nathan H. with a score of 211, and Steven R. with a high score of 227; to prove it was not a fluke, he subsequently managed a pair of solid Rifleman scores of 223 and 224!). Once again, our very own Chris R. showed that age is no barrier, even in the heat, requalifying with a score of 239 (along with several more requalifying scores!).

All-in-all, a successful weekend for shooters and staff alike! Thanks go out to our shooters for enduring the hot weather and "getting it done", as well as the cadre of Appleseed instructors and IITs that were in the middle of the action, adapting and overcoming situations as they developed. Huzzah, Huzzah, HUZZAH!
