Well completed another great Appleseed clinic at the Tusco Rifle Club in New Philadelphia, Ohio this weekend. Thirteen motivated shooters showed up Saturday morning ready to work on their Marksmanship skills. The weather was sunny , hot very humid as we started the weekend.

Once all the shooters had arrived, we completed the normal welcome and moved to the safety briefing. Rifles were brought to the line and the Saturday morning Red Coats we shot.  Results showed we had a great bunch of shooters. Virtually the entire team put 3 in the 100 and about half did the same at 200. We even had a cleared Red Coat Sat morning, congrats Rob.

We moved to the steady hold factors in prone, followed by the six steps and NPOA instructions.  Related drills were shot and the morning moved on to shooting sighting groups and an IMC presentation.  We broke for lunch.  Well the shoot boss (me) got his wires crossed as to where the club had set up lunch so once they found us at the Trap House instead of the Upper Kitchen, where we enjoyed a great lunch and a First Strike from Dom. Shooters returned to the line after lunch to continue their work.

Final sights adjustments were made and confirmation groups were shot.

Next steady hold instructions in seated and standing were presented and were followed by related drills. The Second Strike was presented by Aragorn at our afternoon break and we returned to the line for a practice AQT.

The day ended with the Saturday afternoon Red Coat which had results similar to the morning. This was followed by a Third Strike from Corvette and a call to action to all to get active in their local communities.

Sunday dawned just as sunny, humid and hot as Saturday. The morning Red Coat was shot and the results were consistent with both Saturday Red coats.  We had 11 of 13 at 100, 7 at 200, 3 at 300 and 2 at 400 and 6 joined Daniel Morgan. We then completed several NPOA/Rifleman's cadence drills and moved on to the AQT's.

The shooters were up to the challenge.  On our first AQT, we made our first new Riflemen (Dan with a 228).  On the second AQT, we added another when Frank requalified with a 228.

After a KD lecture at lunch, we were back on the line for more AQT's.  Some pop-up thunder storms forced us to take cover and tell the DOM's just after lunch but they passed and we returned to the line.

Kim then shot his Rifleman score in the afternoon and we had a group of shooters that were knocking on the door with 200+ scores that just didn't quite reach 210.

We finished the day with the Sunday afternoon Red Coat where we had 5 folks join Daniel Morgan and we had our second cleared Red Coat, great job Kim.

Our thanks to the Tusco Rifle Range for hosting our event and my thanks to Dom, Aragorn,  and TomMPR for helping with this shoot.  It was a pleasure to work with  each and every one of you.

We look forward to our next event at Tusco.

several days late, and more than a dollar short. What a great time at Tusco! everyone was on Fire! (well, it might have been the heat).
