Wow what a great weekend. Weather cooperated 100%. We had about 16 shooters. We had two teens, a college student and the rest adults that came from near and far to attend and share the weekend with us. The young folks were a blessing to have around and they had no give-up in them. A special thanks to those that have attended an event before and even brought folks with them to enjoy the weekend. We had 3 military folks from Louisiana join us and brought a friend to take in some marksmanship instruction and hear some great history. We even had a cannon on the line a few times over the weekend. A few friends from Texas and one from Louisiana came up to hand out, camp with me and fill their minds with Appleseed goodness. We had several requalifications but only one new Rifleman. He was new to rifle marksmanship and quickly pick up the instruction and shot a Rifleman score early Sunday and repeated it several more times, ending the weekend with a perfect 210. In case you're wondering, he got baptized by water from under the North Bridge (an Appleseed tradition)
Everyone enjoyed the Memorial Volley. Instead of grouping up and shooting paper targets, we split the line and shot at the two orange hats of two instructors that earned their full red hats. Congrats Bright1 and Jayhawker, it's well deserved. Y'all are both great instructors and assets to the program. Two iits helped greatly through the weekend. Thanks TSmethe and Motoman. Ted from the range shot with us and as always was a great host. Quinncannon and Arceagle joined us on Sunday as shooters. Quinncannon, our resident 250 shooter, shot qualifying scores all day and left a great example of a Riflemans skills by shooting a 247. ArcEagle broke the 240 mark and earned a Distinguished patch

I so wanted to be there but, as I have not mastered the art of self-cloning, had to help with a huge shoot in Hernando, Florida. A good time was had by all in both Arkansas and Florida. Missed seeing you guys. Congrats on a great shoot.
Congratulations to the new Red Hats! To the newly minted Rifleman, welcome to the ranks of Riflemen, we're certainly proud of you!
This was my first time to attend MVSA in Hot Springs, I enjoyed shooting and visiting with the folks there! I detected great enthusiasm for soaking up the training by the students and by the instructor cadre, great job!
Another highlight, was the meal served at noon, hamburgers and hot dogs cooked by TSmethe, thanks!
I'm looking forward to the next shoot there in September!
It was indeed a fantastic weekend! Great to see old friends and meet new ones. Was very happy my nephew came and earned his Rifleman patch. I'm pretty sure this will not be his last event! Very honored to put on a red hat. Will do my best to meet the responsibilities that come with it. Looking forward to the next event!
Great place to shoot, great group of Instructors and Shooters. looking forward to going back.
As the pictures demonstrate the line was at capacity.
That is the norm for MVSA Appleseed events, and typically there are lots of beginner shooters. That is great. It's what it's all about.
Not this time. This felt like a veterans only Appleseed. The only first timer, was shooting AQT scores in the high 220s, with a borrowed rifle, on day two. Huzzah!
Unfortunately for him, his first qualifying score was a 210.

What a great weekend.
The pirates and their cannon was the maraschino cherry on top of an already stellar Patriot's Day Weekend.
