What a great shoot at one of my favorite ranges. The Hollywood Rifle and Pistol Club is located in a very urban region of South Florida and has been there since 1925. It's a shooter's oasis in the middle of a Second Amendment desert, and Project Appleseed is blessed to be able to hold shoots there.
My favorite moment of the weekend: Awarding a purple Rifleman's patch to Kemper Gaston. Kemper made HUGE progress during the weekend and finally shot score on her final AQT of the day. When we announced that she had made it, she almost cried. She's told me that she became so frustrated with herself that she wanted to give up several times, but she hung in and kept working. She's a role model and I suspect there's an orange hat in her future.
And speaking of orange hats, our burgeoning South Florida cadre gained a new member (waiting for him to establish a forum profile).
Here is the honor roll of our riflemen:
-- Mitch Herman, 241
-- Chase Bennet, 224
-- Gustavo Parera, 217
-- Dan Sinkoff, 218
-- Steve Stimpson, 222
-- Roger Arjoon, 223
-- Caleb More, 219
-- Kemper Gaston, 211
-- Allison Zuleta, 210
It was a BIG, very busy, hot 🥵 event at an awesome venue which always gets many terrific students.
The persistence of these students indeed was inspiring and worth our long travel. With a total of 80 yards of firing line :--- and a sold out event, ^:)^ the snatched moment for pics was rare. Imagine that.
Here's a link to a short video pic show. There's music 🎶 if you'd like to turn your speakers on. 😊

I can not be more thankful and proud of all the shooters and instructors that participated. Each shooter showed there willingness to learn and the teachable attitudes by all. We all endured some early South Florida heat, but didn't let it slow us down and we persevered!
I was truly humbled by the hard work, dedication and camaraderie exhibited by one and all during this Patriot's Day Appleseed. I thank all that attended, especially the instructors that traveled from afar to make this another successful event. HUZZAH!!
