Title: Waco, TX Feb 16-17, 2019
Post by: paul.rome on February 18, 2019, 12:40:17 AM
It was a great shoot at the Central Texas Rifle and Pistol Club.  The weather was a little chilly (which was emphasized by a 50 degree swing in temperature from Friday).  The Trail Life group filled the line with some dedicated shooters.  We had 4 shooters earn riflemen, and three existing riflemen re-qualify multiple times.

There were 4 riflemen who stepped up to become orange hats.

There was some great instruction by our dedicated instructors: Kirby, Jim, Dan, Bill, Richard, Debbie and Padraic.

It was a fun filled, and safe event.

Looks like it was a great event.

I'm curious: what are the certificates?

The certificates, my dear, are an awesome little goodie beta tested here in Texas that was approved to go national very recently. I do not know what mechanism they are using to distribute the template file, but it looks like THIS.

They're intended for the young-uns who can't do all of the positions yet because they're simply not strong or coordinated enough, etc, to help them track their progress until they're ready and able to do the full Rifleman qualification.  It's something they EARN.

The template is a form-fillable PDF, so you can pre-print blanks and fill them in completely by hand, or print them with just the names of the children in them. I keep a half dozen or so blanks in case a child comes that wasn't pre-registered.
