Ron has beat me to the punch.

Indeed, he has step up (some say in ^-^) as the State Coordinator for AZ.

This is an opportunity to review the status of the state, see where we are having shoots, where we can expand, not only with new locations, but also at the current locations.

This also allows us to focus more on promotions and recruitment.  At the up coming shoots, we need to stress to the shooters that AZ is poised to explode with Appleseed activity.  We need folks to help with admin, promotions and Instructing.  So, keep that as a constant when you speak with the shooters.

The potential of AZ and the rest of the SW is exciting, having folks become a spark plug (again, some might say lightening rod  :D), with the focus on coordinating efforts within the state, will help speed up the growth process.

Please rally around Ron, offer your support, but most importantly, offer your time.  Giving your time and efforts in promotions and coordination will make the growth of the AZ program much quicker, and that lightens the load for all of you!

Thanks to Ron and looking forward to seeing AZ surpass Texas and California  O0

Quick review of things that Redhawk and I have been working on:

1) Feb 28/March 1 OR March 7/8 weekend - proposed 1/2 day of detail work with interested parties in AZ for reaching Rifleman status with an eye towards becoming instructors.  See thread here:  http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=5399.msg51879;topicseen#msg51879 (http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=5399.msg51879;topicseen#msg51879)

2) Mar 21-22 - Appleseed at Buckeye range (http://www.orgsites.com/az/buckeye-hills/ (http://www.orgsites.com/az/buckeye-hills/))

3) Apr 18-19 - Appleseed at Payson (http://www.tontorimsportsclub.com/ (http://www.tontorimsportsclub.com/))

We have one of the PHX Thanksgiving '08 Appleseed attendees down in the Fort Huachuca area (lysander6 on the forum) talking with the Sierra Vista Range (http://www.sierravistarange.org/Clubs.html (http://www.sierravistarange.org/Clubs.html)) about having an Appleseed down that way in April.  They originally wanted April 18-19, but national has called a halt on scheduling those b/c they don't know where the instructor core will be status wise.

Another PHX '08 attendee (New American) got me involved in an email exchange with a range up in Kingman ([http://www.mohavesportsmansclub.com/ (http://[http://www.mohavesportsmansclub.com/)) but that hasn't gotten far yet.  I need to follow up again to my initial email to the folks involved.

I think that's all that I know about in AZ at the moment.

From Redhawk:

I have a lead up in the Show Low area from last year that I need to flesh out better for this summer.  They should have a brand new range this year similar to Payson's, courtesy of a lease with the Forest Service.

Fella's name is Seth Nadel, if memory serves.  I'll start chatting with him again soon.

Thanks,
AZG
