Heads up. If HB135 becomes law, it would preclude loaning rifles at an Appleseed event in Florida without paying for 2 transfers through an FFL.
It would also preclude demonstrations with any rifle but your own. You could not, as an Instructor, demonstrate anything to a student by using their rifle.

Followup to the UBC (Universal Background Check) in SB654. If a false positive occurs for the original owner, the loaned firearm is disposed to the local Sheriff for destruction within 24 hours. It currently takes 3 months to clear up a false positive with NICS. But, the bill as written requires disposal of the firearm within 24 hours. Thus this UBC in Florida is gun confiscation, pure and simple, with no protection for your personally owned firearms if a false positive comes back from NICS. Very bad law if passed.
