Hey, this seems like a good place to post this...
I Just bought some Frogg Togg (Pro Active) Raingear and I'd like to attach my name to the back so I never have to worry about someone sticking me with duct tape (since Frogg Toggs don't like duct tape).
I sew, so I can make my own "patch" type thing, but for attaching it... Any ideas what would work best? Sewing it on? Using a fabric or patch glue? Embroidery?
The material is kinda thin so I'd hate to sew/embroider it, and have it rip from the little holes. But I'm not sure if a glue would work, and I'd hate to try and have it come off and ruin the back of my jacket.
Some adhesives I know of are, Patch Attach, Patch Stitch, Badge Magic, e6000, Fabri-Tac
I'd be concerned with putting holes in a rain jacket.
Frogg makes a sealer patch (as in repair) goop https://www.froggtoggs.com/smokin-toad/

I'd contact Frogg and ask them.
I did contact them. No response.
Is it a light color? Being a KISS kinda guy, I'd just write my name on it in wax crayon or anything else that doesn't contain solvents.
The various rain gear I have is sealed along the sewn seams by some sort of Teflon-looking tape that appears to be applied by heat. You might be able to find something along those lines to seal the thread/needle holes if you decide to sew on a nametag (or generic fuzzy Velcro, so the nametag could be like a morale patch).

Good idea, thank you. Frogg Togg actually sells an adhesive (not sure if its liquid or tape like) but it's meant for tears. I'll look more into that and see how it's used.
There's a type of plumbing tape made from silicone that adheres only to itself.
Try sewing a strip of that between the jacket and the patch, forming a seal, much like the tar seals used when bolting stuff to a shingle roof.
I'd stay away from a true adhesive, though. I spent (wasted) hours re-aligning my sewing machine's me hanicals after the glue from hook & loop gummed-up the needle, foot, et cetera.
I can get you details if you're still looking for a solution.
The zippers on my wife's greenhouse started to come undone and after trying to hand sew them back on, I went to the hardware store and bought a product called flex-seal adhesive. Yes it's the same flex seal that you see advertised on TV. I glued the zippers back on to the greenhouse material and it really worked great. might be what your looking for???? Best regards, Two Wolves :cool2:
Another option: AS139 - Orange Personalized Instructor-In-Training Hat - Customized Orange Embroidered Instructor-In-Training (IIT) cap.

They're $20.00, and they put your name on the back.
These are really nice, and you wouldn't have to worry about trying to put a tag or anything else on your rain gear. I had one when I was an IIT, and another when I got my Red. Just haven't gotten around to ordering the Shoot Boss version.
