I would like to install a set of iron sights on one of my 6.5's.
This would involve a dovetail cut for the rear and possibly a dovetail cut for the front (or some other installation method)
My google search has revealed no good candidates to do this.
Does anyone know (emphasis on KNOW not googled) of a gunsmith that can do this?
Thanks
Yes, I know a couple, but they are in Montana.
DO they accept shipped rifles? Do they have a website?
There are a couple in my area. I will pick their cards up from my friend. Sadly the one I used the most past last year.
DEH, not sure you have to have a dovetail broached into the receiver/barrel, a set of screwed on sights like they used on the old Remington 700's or the new Browning X-Bolt Safari might work if the bases were milled to match the barrel contour, then all you would need is a couple of holes drilled and tapped. That retrofit would cause no issues as long as you stayed away from the chamber area and it would be cheaper too.
