It was a typical Florida Fall weekend--Hot, mostly sunny with a short, intense rain shower mid-day. We moved from our normal Smallbore Range location to a bay in the action area to allow centerfire rifles. It was a beautiful thing to hear the sweet sound of Liberty with the various high power rifles firing in unison. Fourteen shooters running the full range of ages and skill levels attended. The results were gratifying. Three junior shooters built on their initial low scores to turn in respectable Sunday high scores of 189 for Annabelle, 132 for Matthew (age 10) and 178 for Asher. I see Rifleman patches in their near future! Another noteworthy performance was by Hallie. She went from zero to 148! Dan earned a Rifleman patch while AJ and Phillip requalified. Huzzah! Everyone worked hard and never complained about the heat. This was one of the safest events with no safety rule violations. Special thanks to the instructor crew who made it look easy. Also worthy of thanks is the Port Malabar Rifle & Pistol Club who filled and graded the range so that we had great venue. The prize for best 7th stepping goes to Bear Arms. He brought six of the fourteen students on the line. HUZZAH!
