Title: KD shooting at VETS
Post by: Quinncannon on September 28, 2018, 05:28:19 PM
What a beautiful day for KD in north central Arkansas! Arceagle14 and I rang steel for nearly seven hours from 300 to 500 yards with our AR10's, AR15's and M14's! Nothing like shooting a centerfire and making those first round hits with plenty of accurate follow up shots!

In one string of fire, Arceagle went 20 for 20 on the KD steel at 500 yards with his 6.5 Grendel, then with the same rifle, went to sitting and shot 20 for 20 on a half sized KD target at 300 yards! Imagine that, shooting that well, without the benefit of a formal, genuine KD course like the big boys teach back east, amazing!

Notice the bearded "Dangerous Old Man" Arceagle, showing how it's done in sitting at 300, yes, 300, smaller targets successfully hit at longer range means easier hits on larger targets and close range!

I shot my big ol' DPMS LAR308 varmint rifle with sling and also my Bula Forge M14, about my shooting, I'll say I acquitted myself very well!

One more thing, like our hero, Samuel Whittemore, we used sidearms to dispatch enemy steel targets as well! No pics, but we unlimbered our 1911's and gave 'em accurate 230 grain projectiles time after time, huzzahh!
