It was a hot and humid weekend at the Saltwaters Shooting Club in St. Augustine, Florida. It started out very humid earlier in the morning but with the sun coming out the humidity dropped down a bit. Temperatures stayed in the mid to high 90s both days. Thankfully we weren't ‘blessed' with any rain either day.

Four shooters turned out to face the weather along with seven instructors. This shooter/instructor ratio allowed for extended one-on-one assistance to the shooters. It paid off too! Each of the shooters improved significantly over the weekend and Joe ended up Sunday with a Rifleman's patch shooting a 230 score with a Ruger bolt-action rifle! Huzzah! Sofia, Shawna and Andy all showed steady gains over the two days.

Sofia was awarded a Junior Patch. She will be on her way to Los Angeles this week with her High School acrobatic team to compete in a National competition. We all wish you good luck!

Interestingly, none of the shooters brought a Ruger 10-22 to use over the weekend. The instructors all commented that this was probably the first time any of us had worked an Appleseed without at least one on the line at the start of the shoot. Joe used his Ruger bolt-action, Sofia started out with a nice looking older Remington (which we ended up swapping out with a loaner Marlin 795), Shawna had a Browning Saturday but switched to a loaner 10-22 on Sunday. Andy shot his Steyr on Saturday then switched to an AK47 on Sunday.
Edree did a great job in qualifying for his IIT2 PC.
Again, thanks to all the instructors, B.C., FLawyer, AdobeWells, Falcon793, SaltwaterShooter, and Edree that attended this weekend. It is always rewarding to meet and work with such dedicated and enthusiastic people. Heavyduty77
