An incredible weekend was had by all in the humid and sometimes lightning streaked fields of Liberty Center. Instructors were greeted by a total of Seven shooters that morning, including a father and daughter, my own daughter and A boy scout leader and two of his scouts, all eager to learn safe handling skills, marksmanship and to become acquainted with the forgotten history of our nation's birth.
An early morning lightning storm delayed the beginning of our shoot by approximately four hours, but we compensated with history and early morning instruction.  Starting Redcoats indicated a good beginning with one cleared redcoat (admittedly by our blue hat, Bailey) and we built on this through the day, turning in a PM redcoat with 5 hitting the 100, 3 clearing the 200, 2 clearing the 300 and three shingle shots.
Little BUddy presented a stirring second strike and Strelock called the line like a pro.

Sunday's return was predicted to be smaller, attrition and homework demanding the attention of our eager Scouts. Returning were our father and daughter team, who worked steadily through the day on AQT's, grinding their new learned abilities as the hot sun and hover-flies (sweat bee's) battled for their attention.
In the end, patches were not to be handed out this day, but for the Appleseed "lest we forget" patches awarded our younger shooters, but much learning of safety, marksmanship and history was done, and much fun was had. We all departed with the often heard Appleseed promise, "We'll see you again next time."

Thanks to all for a safe shoot, fine fellowship and a great time!
