Eight fellow citizens got up off the couch and came out on a lovely day for the One-day Appleseed Rifle Marksmanship Clinic in Annapolis, MD. The temperature was just wonderful! Average temperature was about 75 degrees, which made for a great day at the range. The Annapolis Game & Fish Commission (AAFG) range is a very nice facility, and the rimfire range is the de-facto "Maryland Home-Range", and a perfect place to conduct Appleseed events ("We're in a dell..."). After the introductions & safety brief, we kicked off the event.
Of the Shooters on the line, 5 were repeat Appleseeders, and 3 first-timers, including a 7-yr old girl with a Cricket on a bipod... and WOW did she run that thing well! O0
Future Riflewoman in the making.
We were able to get through all the instruction and complete 2 AQTs, and folks were engrossed with the history! We even snuck-in the Samuel Whittemore story. Richard W and Mary C earned their Luther Blanchard patches, and David C re-qualified as a Rifleman with a 212, and backed it up with a 230, and then cleaned his Redcoat! Huzzah! Another recipient of the much-coveted Maryland Front-sight patch, and he also received the newly established "Distinguished" rocker.
All the shooters maintained a teachable attitude, huge improvements were made, and everybody had a lot of fun! Thank you very much to our host range, the Anne Arundel Fish and Game Association (AAFG) in Annapolis, MD. Check out their website http://www.aafg.org/.
And last but not least, many thanks to my fellow instructors, whose positive attitudes and professional demeanor made this not only a successful shoot, but a very fun one too! Thanks to ABCgarand, Etervigila, Catch-10-22, and Aninha.
