4 shooters gathered at the Henry County Gun Club ready to learn about history and marksmanship! It was a very hot weekend, and although some cloud cover and a breeze helped, we were thankful for the air conditioned club house at lunch!! 3 of the shooters were new to Appleseed and everyone showed good interest in all history presentations. As we started with the redcoat targets, we saw some need for improvement, and as the weekend progressed, improvement was made! We took is slow on Saturday as it was very hot. Lots of water breaks, so we completed 2 stages of the AQT. As Saturday concluded, everyone seemed happy with the progress made and planned to return on Sunday.
For Sunday, only 3 shooters were able to return, as 1 shooter ended up sick Saturday night due to the heat. And another shooter had a terrible migraine headache, and though he put forth much effort, he had to leave after lunch. Our remaining 2 shooters were eager to progress, and slowly increased their AQT scores, getting close to Rifleman. At the end of Sunday our highest score was 203. This was significant progress from the initial scores.
I hope to see all of our shooters at future events, and feel confident they can get that patch! Thanks to everyone for attending and thank you so much to the Henry County Gun Club for allowing us to use their wonderful facility!!
