I've been told that Spectrum (formerly Time Warner Cable), refers to the Waco area as the "Heart of Texas" or "HOT." We can all AGREE with Spectrum that Waco is indeed HOT!!!!
We had eight shooters (two prior Riflemen) on the line both Saturday and Sunday A smaller group than usually seen at Waco, but the instructors had more time to work one-on-one with shooters and all of them had noticeable improvements throughout the event. Three of our shooters were under age 17 one achieved Sharp Shooter with a score just over 170 points.
All of the instructors agreed that the shooters on the line were open minded and eager to learn new skills. After some minor modifications to a scope, the youngest shooter, 13, told us that he didn't have to guess anymore because he could now see the target. Everyone who attended said they would return (when it was cooler!) and that they all enjoyed the event and were glad that they attended.
Although we didn't have any new Riflemen scores, we did have one shooter on Sunday re-qualify with a 247 and an instructor re-qualify as well. Our shooter who re-qualified, also accepted an Orange Hat and is eager to join the Texas instructor cadre when his work schedule permits.
Congratulations Debbie on your first SBIT event.
Sounds like a great weekend full of experiences for you and the participants. O0
Keep up the good work. :F
