Several participants said "This was the best Appleseed, ever!" Wow!
We had a small group of students and an even smaller group of instructors with everyone doing their part with enthusiasm and diligence. Infernoseed--almost. Weather was hot and humid with some ankle deep puddles in the grass but we avoided rain both days. The best part for most was shooting prone at 100 yards at the 100 yard target for the "feel" of shooting stage four at full distance. After some adjustments to come-ups everyone was pleased with the outcome. It's fine to teach KD but best to do it!
We had two new Riflemen (Joe and David) and three requalified (Bill, Scott and Marian). Joe hadn't shot in thirty years. After absorbing the tools and techniques we teach he shot successive 214s. Most improved honors go to Dan. He's knocking on the door with a top score of 185 at his second 'seed. With Dry Practice I predict he'll score at the next clinic. Mamma Bear, a school teacher and Blue Hat, presented the Third Strike with enthusiasm. She shot a personal best 126 and with some adjustments will succeed in her quest for Riflewoman. Scott and Marian cleared the Redcoat twice each--amazing! Scott showed us what it means to take 7th Stepping seriously. He brought two buddies and provided them with rifles and ammo. MaidMarian (Marian) and Bear Arms (David) accepted Orange Hats and will attend the IBC next month. SWOFO and Blind Dog advanced to IIT2. HUZZAH to all!
Thanks to everyone's enthusiasm and team work we had a safe shoot and a great time. Thank you all!
