It was a hot, humid, and sometimes rainy/stormy weekend in the Old North State at Charlotte Rifle and Pistol Club for the June 2-3 Appleseed Weekend. With temperatures in the high 80s and low 90s, thunderstorms in the forecast all weekend and coming right on the heels of Memorial Day, attendance was down at only 3 shooters - but they came out to shoot nd shoot they did. 3 shooters on the line, and 3 new Riflemen by the end of the weekend.
Regina was first with a score of 211 on the second AQT on Saturday afternoon. She would again shoot a Rifleman's score on Sunday, as well as clearing the final Redcoat on Sunday afternoon. She did an awesome job.
Doug shot his Rifleman scores on Sunday - his first was a 212 with a high of 231 by the end of the day. Doug was chasing that Distinguished Badge (240 with scope) and came close and I've no doubt he'll get there on his next weekend out.
Scott shot his Rifleman score on the last AQT on Sunday afternoon. He had been chasing it al day in the 201-206 range, and then shot an impressive 226 to close out Sunday afternoon. Awesome perseverance and great shooting.
Well done, all!! I will get some pictures posted this evening.
Thank you to our three instructors (Steven, Neil, and Mike). A great time was had by all. Looking to come back again in September.
Scott
A little late to the party, but I'd like to add my thanks to Yankee Doodle and the rest of our Appleseed crew. It took until Wednesday for me to get over the soreness from all those position changes, but then I reviewed my targets and found I'd qualified three times rather than two! So, worth it! ;)
