Nine Appleseed veterans turned up this Saturday to work on their known distance shooting - Rimfire style. This event is a special one day curriculum where shooters practice known distance skills at medium range with their 22s.
-We shot steel at 50y in place of the redcoat and confirmed that a 50y zero is similar to a 25y zero for 22s
-We refined our prone positions and got good 25y zeroes
-We heard a history story about Andrew Jackson from Megan, our new blue hat
-We shot out to 100y and measured the actual drop for our rifles at 75y and 100y
-We built databook for future use
-We shot two RFKD AQTs, and two shooters got Rifelman scores
-We shot steel at 200y with a spotter, and every shooter was achieving mostly hits by the end.
Maybe it's just me, but that "ping" of bullets hitting steel in the distance is the sound of freedom :F
Thanks for coming out everyone!
Thanks to you and your crew for the time and instruction. It was a good time.
