This marks the 2018 return to the fantastic Mansfield Fish and Game in Mansfield, MA. We had terrific weather for this weekend sunny and in the mid 50s to lower 60s. Over the course of the weekend we had 18 total shooters that filled the line at Mansfield quite nicely.
Special thank you to Round Trip, Captn Mike, Redmage93, and hbennet that really helped this be a smooth event with zero safety issues.
Because of the help we were able to hand out 5 rifleman patches, one distiguished with a 242 score with a scope. I was also able to give out a Red hat to Captn mike. and most importantly after shooting the distinguished score of 242 Trebuchet agreed to take on a Orange Hat and start a great journey. Thank you KH.
Again a great safe event that was enjoyed by all, with many looking forward to returning in October in attempts to get that rifle man patch or keep working for the distinguished rocker.
Keep up the good work everyone.
Many thanks to Rasmus for making this another successful event. Congratulations to Capt. Mike on a job well done! You certainly earned the title "Red Hat".
Events like this with motivated students, and a dedicated team of instructors, such as we have, make these events more fun than work. Helping the shooters improve, or a return shooter finally get across the line, and telling the story to those who have never heard it before never gets old.
And, of course, getting the chance shoot an AQT or two now and again, to keep sharp, is always greatly appreciated as well.
ah yes that is right Redmage93 and hbennet got to do some shooting I was happy to have accomplished that too.
Excellent, competent, knowledgeable, courteous crew. The shooters were earnest individuals who had never held a firearm, marksmen tickling 250 and natural shooters. An important benefit to being an AS instructor is learning more yourself every time.
Trying to post photos with no luck. Will try again later.
Congratulations! Captn Mike, well done. And. Welcome aboard Trebuchet. I hope to get out to that neck of the woods and meet you both.
goodpiper
As I need to get out to Leyden more...
I have at least 2 young shooters to start on the Appleseed trail. Leyden is my favorite range for starting new youth shooters.

Sounds like an amazing event, you guys! Well done! If I happen to find myself in your neck of the woods around an event time (I have a brother in Norton, dontcha know), I'd love to play visiting instructor. But I promise to check and make sure I'm needed before I go signing up! :cool2:
