What a Great Weekend for Appleseed! :F

First of all, I would like to thank the members of SaraSpa Rod and Gun Club for the use of their range and facility.

Spring has finally sprung in The Adirondacks, and We made good use of it. Our last event here we had to shovel lanes, so the students could see the target line.

Saturday we were packed, We had 29 students, with the potential of 32. The lanes were tight, but the students took this in stride.

We got started with The First Strike , and the safety briefing, and then we hit the mats.  Students soaked up instruction, like sponges, everyone was showing improvement, we had a couple of rifles needed work, but that was done quickly and effectively.

We broke for lunch with The Second Strike delivered by R1SGX2 &)with an emphasis on Issac Davis, sacrifice. Mark got word that I was shorthaded :sos: and came by to help out.

After lunch we were back to the for transitions, NPOA drill, and probably the best trigger reset drill, I have ever witnessed, everyone followed instruction, and stayed focused. We started on AQTs

Drifter52 gave a Great Third Strike, leading up to The Anniversary Volley, at 1600.

Sunday started with almost perfect attendance of everyone that planned to return.  I did Dangerous Old Men and Women, finishing up with Saumuel Whittimore, every student was presented a post card size picture of Samuels Monument (Thanks Smurf O0)

We started the AQT grind, with a few drills thrown in.

We broke for lunch and did some instruction on KD, and The Traditional Cannon Shot(s)

Mark brought a Special Guest with him today, his Friend Carrie Farley.  Carrie is a Past President of New York Gold Star Mother's.  Mark told us the story of Carries Son, Staff Sgt Derek Farley, and their sacrifices for this Nation.  "Remember Issac Davis", Mark said as he concluded.

We finished the day grinding out AQTs, nearly running out of targets.... a first for me that won't happen again.

We had some Riflemen

Dante a New Rifleman, with  218 :---

Kevin a New Rifleman,  with  210 :---

Don a New Rifleman, with 218 :---

Roland a New Rifleman, with 231 :~

We had some Repeat Rifleman

Bill a repeat Rifleman with 214 :~

Dan a repeat Rifleman with....TBD :~

Scott a repeat Rifleman with 242 Distinguished  :~

We had some Young Patriots O0

Robert, Ryan, Chris, Luke, And Jay

This was a Great Event, We had a good mix of new and salty students. Many students were knocking at the door of that elusive 210.

The turnout was Great bringing out Fathers, and Sons, Husbands, and Wife's, and Friends bringing Friends.  Everyone gave a concentrated effort, and the results were evident.  Keep practicing.

I would like to Thank my Crew, who worked exceptionally hard at this event.

Drifter 52, Noratoga, Sureshot, HistoryBuff, and R1SGX2  You guys make my job easy!O0

I would also like to thank Dan, for set up and clean up O0

We got some new Instructors in Training, please Welcome

sgtmarine, and Kehanselman as New York's newest Orange Hats O0 Thanks for stepping Up!

This was another great event at the Sara Spa Rod and Gun Club.  Thanks to the club, and thanks to Grumpy1 for putting it together and running an excellent event.

The great spring weather and the friendly, cheerful, receptive, and focused participants by themselves would have made this a great event.  Two new Orange Hats is icing on the cake.  Thanks for stepping up sgtmarine and kehanselman, and welcome. O0

Another amazing AS event at SaraSpa! This was my second event I've attended, both on the anniversary weekend, and both having amazing weather and amazing instruction by Grumpy1, Drifter 52, Noratoga, Sureshot, HistoryBuff, and R1SGX2.  :F

The events I attended were two years apart (after being sold out of the event last year, darn my procrastination!), but I took the time to practice NPOA, trigger control and getting my body used to positions that I didn't do so well in the first time (mostly sitting/kneeling). And WOW did that pay off. After finding a more comfortable position for sitting, my scores went from mid-20s to mid/upper-40s! helping me break that elusive 210 barrier!  :snipersmi

And it just kept getting better from there, once I really focused on my position and NPOA (instead of worrying about that 210), I was able to get my scores up even more, topping out at 218. Each AQT I can think of at least 1 or 2 things I did that as soon as I did them I called it and knew that cost me breaking into the 220s.

After my first AS two years ago I knew I wanted to volunteer, so on Saturday when I got my first rifleman score, I knew by the end of the weekend I was going to ask. It's an absolute pleasure to volunteer for such a great cause.  O0
