Wowee, first SOLD OUT SHOOT in IL in awhile. Had 24 signed up and 25 showed up!!!!!!!!
The weather was good for Saturday and beautiful for Sunday. We had one heck of a group about half new and half repeaters. Thank you to my other instructors to coming out and helping with this large line and oh yeah 8 kids. The group was awesome with listening to feedback and taking to the instruction like fish to water. Nothing but improvements through out the weekend even with the ending red coats on Sunday no one gave up and were able to better themselves.
So all this talk about improvement we had to end up with some Riflemen right? We got 3 new ones Art, Dan, and Sam. And Both of our Chris' re-qualified.
Not only did Art score his Rifleman at his 2nd event he is now willing to take on the Orange Hat! ^:)^
Big thank you to ISRA for hosting us and again thank you to Laredo, Scattershot, Cinco, AK, Shooter 3006, and LnG.
Until next time... keep that lead flying :F
Many thanks to all the instructors for all their hard work before, during, and after our shoot.
V/r,
Murphy
PS Go Red Sox - Chewie
Great weekend! Great group of shooters! Great instructors! The improvement we saw was astounding. Even on the first day - the morning redcoat vs the afternoon redcoat was night and day.
Our Wookie, Chewy, ran an awesome shoot!
I have a great deal of good pictures. For some reason, I am unable to post up any. I will try to figure this out so check back.
Another fantastic weekend spent trying to master the world's most inefficient hole-puncher. I managed to learn a few new things this shoot and looking forward to future events.

My best score for the weekend was 229 but still a long way from perfect. Lowest score was 215. So plenty of reason to keep coming back.
Average Scores:
- Stage 1 - 46
Stage 2 - 44
Stage 3 - 45
Stage 4 - 44
Highest theoretical score (taking the best rounds from each AQT) was 237
Overall, while I didn't best my highest score, I felt a *lot* more consistent and saw a lot of bullets being put into the same holes. It was a big, enthusiastic, and fun group to shoot with.
Once again, many thanks to the volunteers and instructors.

Looking through your photos (very nice, by the way!), I noticed your comment about the sling swivels being a bit cumbersome to take on & off. My personal favorite swivels are the "Titan" model from The Outdoor Connection:
https://boytharness.com/product/titan-qr-sling-swivels
They're a bit pricier at $18, but very nicely made, and the pin simply slides in & out with the push of a finger to get the swivel on & off. It's held in the open or closed position by a small spring detent.
I know this is way late in posting but I can't thank you guys enough for coming out and running such a fun and safe shoot. My girls and I had a great time and I'm headed to a KD in October!! Thanks a lot!
Sam
I am so glad you had a good time. We sure did also. Your daughters were a joy and did a fantastic job.
Your going to love the KD!
