Title: Ramseur NC (Home Range) AAR April 21-22, 2018 PATRIOT'S DAY
Post by: Thaddeus on April 23, 2018, 10:56:13 AM
What a great weekend for an Appleseed shoot!

First, the weather cooperated and showed why April in North Carolina is just perfect shooting weather - warm, nice breeze, trees and flowers in bloom on the home range.

Second, this group of students was the best bunch we have had - by instructor acclaim. Everyone was eager to listen and learn, to help each other, to try new ideas, and safely spend the weekend.

From these 35 students we have twelve (12!) new Riflemen. In that august group is a Distinguished Rifleman, Jamie, who shot a 237 on Saturday with iron sights and a bolt-action rifle, then followed up on Sunday with a 248 using a bolt-action. Jamie credits his success to dry-firing practice. Another student, Debbie, started with almost no rifle experience, then qualified Rifleman on both days of the shoot. Two instructors were able to sneak in an AQT and both requalified.

On Sunday several students tried out their skills on the Ramseur 500-yard range.

My thanks to the instructors who participated, but especially to this safe group of students.

The class photo is attached, with more pictures to come. Please post ‘em if you've got ‘em.

Here is a link to the album (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/162vckc20aqinuz/AAA2z7aqRcKPIXARXQec33LTa?dl=0) from that day.  I hope everyone enjoys the photos! We had a good group of shooters and instructors.

Warmest,
