Saturday morning started with 5 instructors and a blue hat standing in the rain, wondering if any students were going to show up.
12 Hardy soul's did make an appearance to this Shoot Boss delight. Shooters ranged from 16 to 77 years young. Shortly after everyone's arrival the rains stopped and the bugs came out. Several cans of OFF were gladly shared and we had passed our second hurdle of the morning.
The Fire hose was turned on and the students drank in the Knowledge passed down by a very experienced instructor cadre.
Saturday contained all blocks of instruction 2 Aqt's and Patriotic Volley at 4pm eastern. :F
Sundays forecast called for more rain, Expert Blue Hat work sped us right through check in and into the safety Briefing. Students were released to their vehicles to retrieve rifles , two came back empty handed ?? No problem for this crew, TomM1Thumb had them fixed up with loaners in no time flat.
Several loaners, rifle swaps and gunsmithing (is that a word) adventures later everyone was making steady improvement.
Congratulations to our Rifleman,
Keith and Robert. ^:)^
David please come back 209 is just heartbreaking. :boohoo:
Art and Justin, Great job despite the setbacks.

The line is clear GLEN.
And a good time was had by all...
Thanks to Todd and all the Red (and Blue) Hats for putting together a memorable event. I've been shooting for 50 years, and I still learn every time I go, and I still get a little better every time. Anyone on the fence about this should do it.
This was my 3rd event, I enjoyed the atmosphere and tone that Todd brought to the event, not quite ALL business, but still enough room for the inevitable goofing around.
Nice shooting Robert and David, and all.
I wish I had known about this (or it even existed) when my whole body worked.
Just like the revolution started with a bunch of perfect timing events (miracles), the rain, bugs and sun all seemed to cooperate when we needed them to.
Suggestions?
While I think it's great that the instructors join in and do a little shooting with us, I would like to suggest that the guys with the center-fire rifles keep them with the other shooters with center fires. It was a new experience for me catching the full muzzle blast to the face, thanks to the highly efficient muzzle device on the AR15. While I believe I shot my 217 in that round, it made for an exercise in concentration, and a new sense of appreciation for our soldiers that have to fight that way. :boohoo:
All part of the fun. That's why there's safety glasses and earplugs.
Thanks again for a memorable experience,
Good times! Thanks to all who made this Patriot's Day event happen. Special thanks to Saltwaters Shooting Club for providing a super top notch facility! Congratulations to Florida's newest riflemen!
