Title: Who is shooting at the National Matches at Camp Perry this year?
Post by: SteelThunder on April 12, 2018, 04:42:35 PM
Oz and I had the distinct please of shooting for our first time at the National Matches at Camp Perry last year (why did I 52 years to do this?) and were thrilled to see no fewer than 5 Appleseed instructors in the competitor ranks...from memory I think it was Cadence, Charley, Lil' Buddy, Miki, Toobeukoo...maybe some others.  It was also nice to see a dozen or so people in Appleseed shirts amongst the competitors.

Going back this year...who will we see?  Maybe we get together for BBQ?  Maybe we 7th step?

We're going to:
+ Advanced Small Arms Firing School - July 27-28
+ M16 EIC - July 28
+ Oliver Hazard Perry match - July 28
+ President's 100 - July 29

Yankee was there last year, too!

Great idea to see if folks are available!  I'd love to finally meet some folks who I only know from their good work on the forum.

Charley, Yankee, and I will be there.

Charley will shoot the Vintage Sniper Match with me.

Yankee will shoot the Sporter Match, Oliver Hazard perry match, Presidents rifle match, National Individual Match, Modern Military Match, Garand Match.

Little Buddy will shoot all the same Matches a Yankee.

Now for getting together for food Port Clinton is known for fish  two great Restaurants are Jolly Roger Seafood House, the other is Tin Goose Diner The Tin Goose has a Museum right on site the museum consist of mainly world war II Aviation Equipment and planes and some small tank's. If you would like to Change from BBQ to some of these local restaurants let us know. I know you guys from Michigan are all about BBQ but Port Clinton is not known for BBQ.

I was there in 2016 (won a Bronze) but skipped last year. There was an AS shoot in Carroll, OH the same weekend that needed help.

I plan on registering this year but don't know what other events i will register for due to recent neck surgery. (Herniated disk). Don't want to re-injure due to higher recoil. Will evaluate as the matches get closer.
