Super early placeholder for handouts. Thanks for being interested!
So...are you signed up for the event? :)
Boy, you had me REALLY confused for a second there, Oz **)
Had some time on my hands this afternoon, I know the next few weeks will be busy, so I started prepping the end-of-event handouts. I create a "tinyurl" for the address to make it easier for students to go right to the AAR--but I need the actual address to create that. So it's always up a little early but this is a record for me. It's kind of nice to follow the patriot model of preparation rather than Gage's botched orders for Percy's brigade, right?
Now...you're welcome to come up...Ghostring and Weezer can tell you we're all kinds of fun. And I'd genuinely like to see you run that tuber, as famed in song and story. :)
Famed in song and story??? how in the heck did THAT happen?!?!?
Methinks I'd better get some practice :-[ I haven't run my baby in awhile. I'm rusty :-\
One of these days, Oz, I'll head up that way! But.... when it's warmer, ok? I live in the desert for a reason. I don't do cold.. You people are #) #) #)
And while I can't say I'm "milita-prepared," I'm doing better than Gage and Percy. I did, at least, get my planning thread started today ;D
Great weekend and a great group of shooters. I hope to see you all again soon!
It was a great weekend in Dorr. Thanks to Oz, Merlin, Sir Kay and the rest of the Appleseed team. We had a great time! Made new friends and sharpened our skills. Here is hoping we can arrange a known distance event here this fall.
Thank you for bringing Appleseed to Dorr, Bentwrench
We had a great weekend at South Kent Sportsman's Club! Seventeen fine Americans joined us on the line for our Patriot's Day weekend. The weather was lovely (maybe too lovely on Sunday, going from "freezing rain" to "sunburn" in 7 days is Pure Michigan) and we started this ol' ‘seeder's year out right with FIVE new Riflemen and one repeat Rifleman!
Bob, congratulations on repeating as a Rifleman! It looked like you had just been on the line with us last week. Congratulations to our new Riflemen: Josh, 220! Brian Y, 291! Mark, 216 and 226, and Ryan with a 219 (so you had something to talk about on the drive home)! And Eric, with a 216! You all persevered and it paid off on Sunday!
Al, it was great seeing you again. Hopefully next time I can join you on the line again and you can send some brass my way. Randy and Angela, thank you for coming out, I look forward to seeing you again and you're right, it was a great group of people!
Brian C, working that M1A, and thank you for helping me out on a "real life" sidebar
Grant, SO close! You'll be back to pick up that patch, right? Jerry, I know you've got this. John, you've done it before and you'll do it again (don't let Tom write your name on your AQT!). Mike D and Craig, I look forward to working with you again--and Craig, I will get you that information on Camp Perry and the National Matches!
Justice and Prosper, it's been too long. You're growing up as fine young men and it was great to work with you.
Eric, Jerry and Josh, thank you for the invitation and the extracurricular shooting after class ended on Saturday. Those were three fine rifles--a M1903, M1, and M1A. You know, I love the "ping", the M1A was like a laser, it just wouldn't miss, but there was something special about ringing steel with a 1918 rifle in 2018, thinking about the doughboys who used it 100 years ago to defend Liberty, again.
A number of you asked; we are working with the club with the hope of bringing a Known Distance event back this fall. Stay tuned and keep an eye on the schedule! And please feel free to reach out to me or any other instructor if you have questions on anything from this weekend.
Thank you to our instructor crew, D.S.S., merlin33, Sir Kay, J-Dog, Fidget and Tom (and an incognito TreadCarefully). You made it a great weekend for our shooters. You rock, and you have my gratitude.
Until next time...I look forward to seeing each of you on down the trail. Bring friends!
With respect, I remain, your humble shoot boss, Oz.
Hey Oz. Can you help me down load some pictures? I haven't quiet got this figured out yet.
I'll do my best! I'll PM you!
Here are some pictures of the Dorr, South Kent Sportsman's Club Patriots' Day Apple shoot.
A couple more if they load
Still more
Gonna try for a couple more
Thank you for the great pics!
