Title: Bald Knob 3/4/18
Post by: sticksnstones on March 06, 2018, 09:46:21 PM
Originally we scheduled a one day KD as an instructor going away event.  Only to find out that it was not feasible with time constraints and lack of a DSB. We made it unofficial and ran the shooting portion to standards. In attendance was one SB, 2 Instructors, 6 iits and a bluehat. All I can say is that Arkansas shooter shoot lights out. A few just shot for practice and 5 shot it very seriously and did great. And although it was shot unofficially I wanted to post results here

These are men that know what they are about. Others didn't shoot it or did not have their equipment ready to shoot KD. Everyone that tried scored KD Rifleman. Huzzah

We counted the 5 ring as 400 yards for that stage of fire, hence the total hits counted at 300 being higher than normal.

Congratulations to all who qualified! Thanks for the VETS Shooting Center for the use of their range.

I shot the first two KD's with an AR, the second two with a bolt action .223 with detachable box magazine.

Erin and I had a great time with y'all.  We will miss being here.  We're somewhat sadly looking forward to Hot Springs in April, knowing that will probably be one of the last shoots we will be at in Arkansas for some time.

We'll miss both of you as well, but I know you'll continue on the Appleseed Trail in Georgia!

Good job AR seed family. So very great to hear you guys doing well.
Looks like some new red bars for extinguished riflemen with 48 & 49 KD scores were won too! Huzzah! Several bars went out here in Tallahassee at annual Jan RBC too. Wearing or showing those things at events certainly motivates return student shooters who have scored rifleman at regular AS events to achieve new level! Had one student achieve one at regular Hollywood event.  ^:)^
Speaking of Hollywood, It's a long ways for you guys, but....if you ever want to come to FL for vacation & work an event, check this out on FL instructors You Tube Chanel....
