Title: Waco, TX Feb. 17 - 18 2018 AAR
Post by: AF5US on February 20, 2018, 07:21:55 PM
Another fine event with the good people in Waco!
Attendance was a little lighter than we're used to - we're normally in the 20's but only pulled in 7 this time.  Two people contacted us in advance with symptoms of the dreaded super-flu that is sweeping our nation; another two may not have come due to illness or forecasted rain.
Nevertheless, the rain stayed to mild, occasional drizzles and a good time was had by all.  Most of the shooters had a fair bit of experience, and it showed.  We finished with two new riflemen - one of whom earned the very first Distinguished patch in Waco, with a score of 240 using a scope.  We had another shooter re-qualify, and one of our instructors had a chance to re-qualify as well.  We ended the day with every shooter hitting the red coats AT LEAST out to 200 yards, including one of our newer shooters - quite a good bit of progress, and we look forward to seeing you back on the line!

As always, thank you to the excellent instructors who make the shoot boss' job SO much easier.  Mercedes told some fantastic strikes and is now looking to switch into a red hat soon, & it was good to work with BilJac again.  Tumbleweed clearly has a passion for the program, and some good suggestions on ways to switch things up a bit.  Ragnar Delta and Richard Jones are always there to support us.  Perhaps the best part was when the shoot boss tried to get the broken 4-wheeler working, & ended with the horn decided to become stuck in the on position.  Fortunately a multi-tool and a battery terminal quickly resolved that little problem until we found time for a better fix.

Great shoot!

Thanks all for coming out! Congrats to those patched!

Y'all come back now, ya hear?!
